The Back Story to Colorado

I started going to Colorado in 1947; Dad was a flat-land Iowa farm boy that was sent to Switzerland for 3 Christmases in WWII. He fell in love with the mountains and CO is where we vacationed all the time I was growing up.

Barb and I married in 1972 and she hadn't been to the mountains, so I got to introduce her to Colorado. We've been here in cars, on motorcycles and on skis. Now it's an RV. It started feeling really friendly and familiar in the high plains of western Nebraska/eastern Colorado. We're in Denver now; got the wheelchair lift in the RV serviced and went out to dinner at Fleming's to celebrate Barb's birthday. Tomorrow we drop south and west and get into the mountains!
